After years of running, weight training, and spinning left Susie’s
body felt tight and plagued with injuries, she started to dabble in
yoga classes at the local gym to “stretch”. After only a few yoga
classes she discovered that not only was yoga a great workout but
something else was beginning to happen. One day she was surprised
to get out of bed without limping! She also started to feel
something else that she was not expecting. After a few months she
felt less stressful and was learning to be aware of her body and her thoughts. She was learning to take yoga “off the mat”
incorporating all the calmness she experienced in class to other
aspects of her life.
This
led to an underlying sense to want to learn more about yoga and
ultimately brought her to the Living Yoga Teacher Training (LYTT)
Program where she found a yoga community like no other. Supportive,
comfortable and allowing her to develop her own practice, in her own
way, and on her own time.
Susie
recently graduated from the LYTT Program. She has studied with
Maureen Miller, Aimee
DeRoehn, Beth Berkeley, Margaret Fletcher, Govinda
Kai, and David Swenson.
Off
the mat Susie is employed at Orthopedic Professional Assn (18
years). She enjoys spending time with friends and family, including
all her beautiful nieces and nephews. In addition to yoga, she loves
to be outdoors running, hiking and kayaking.
