Rachel began
practicing yoga 8 years ago. She initially enjoyed the difference
it made in how she felt physically. Since then she has developed an
even deeper appreciation for the difference it makes in how she
feels emotionally. As a licensed psychotherapist she is
particularly interested in how yoga can bring a sense of calm and
flexibility to our day-to-day lives, and how it can help us learn to
listen to ourselves.
Wanting to learn
more about the benefits of yoga, Rachel entered the 200 hour Teacher
Training Program at Living Yoga where she studied with Maureen
Miller and Beth Berkeley. Since then she has participated in
trauma sensitive yoga training through the Trauma Center at the
Justice Resource Institute, become certified to teach children
through Lisa Flynn of ChildLight Yoga, and is currently pursuing a
certificate in Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga through Sadie Nardini.
Through this journey, Rachel has discovered a love for teaching. In
class she strives to offer students a creative flow and a moment of
balance and calm during the business of their daily lives.
