The
revelation of the physical and spiritual benefits of her own yoga
practice led to the contemplation of teaching yoga with the
intention to bring yoga to more people (so they will bring it to
more people and so on and so on)!
Maureen's love of teaching yoga comes through in her energetic,
playful style. The joy of teaching, as well as observing
students' "AHA" moments, is a wonderful blessing. It is an
honor to have the opportunity to be included in a student's yoga
path, be a witness to the inspiration and change it can reveal, and
how that can be expressed off the mat.
Maureen's primary teachers are Kathy
McNames, co-owner/co-director of
YogaVermont
and Mimi Loureiro, creator/owner of
O2 Yoga.
Maureen is a graduate of O2's 200 hour Teacher Training of intensive
study in foundations and teaching philosophies of yoga, she is an
Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and she is a
Certified ChildLight Yoga Instructor. Maureen has studied with many
other inspirational teachers including Beryl Bender Birch, David
Swenson, Nicki Doane, Eddie Modestini and Govinda Kai.
In addition to
teaching yoga, Maureen has led the Yoga New Hampshire Teacher
Training/Develop Your Practice (TT/DYP) program for 5 years.
Maureen previously held a leadership position at a state-wide human
service position for over 8 years. Her skills and experience
in that position easily transitioned to her role in leading the
Living Yoga community as well as the TT/DYP program.
Maureen's natural coaching abilities led her to explore
coaching certificates. She has a Professional Coaching
Certification from the University of New Hampshire and a Health
Certification from
B1 Community. She
anticipates integrating private yoga classes with life/health
coaching with the goal of touching lives in a way that is meaningful
and profound toward assisting people to discover and live their life
purpose and TO LIVE LIFE ON PURPOSE.
Her personal
mantra is: Sat. Chit. Ananda.
In Sanskrit translating to: Love. Knowingness. Bliss.
As a yoga teacher and coach it is her hope to inspire students/coachees
on the path of life to:
- learn to live a fulfilled life, with love
- trust our intuition - our inner knowing
- examine what feeds our souls - to live a blissful life
