LIVING GREEN

Yoga is about balance (stable-izing, if you will) and connection. Most of us have experienced that on multiple levels feeling the power of the connection between ourselves and nature through our surroundings. . .

Connecting with nature as a spiritual practice as well as a has implications for environmental consciousness and action. It helps strengthen this link between earth-friendly living by taking the mat outdoors and into nature. Making it less likely that we would hurt or damage our natural environment. Bringing us more in tune with ourselves and the world around us.

Living Yoga does the following to 'green' our studio:

  • We do not use plastic or paper cups - we offer students mugs that we re-use.

  • We use environmentally safe cleaning products.

  • We use all natural and earth friendly toilet paper and tissues
  • Our carpets cleaned by an environmentally-aware company.
  • Our schedules and flyers are printed on recycled paper.

  • We are a partner with prAna in their Natural Power Initiative

  • We recycle.

  • We reuse the back of old schedules/flyers (actually we re-use the second side of every piece of paper we possibly can).

  • We offer towels for drying hands.

  • We recently repainted the studio with zero VOC paint products.

  • We are a supporting member of Environment New Hampshire.

  • We are a member of the national organization Green Yoga and have been since it's inception.

  • We were the first 'supporting member' of Green Concord ~ a local non-profit group that seeks to foster a greener way of doing business and create a truly sustainable local economy.

We strive to reduce the number of copies we get for schedule and flyers.  Here's where you come in - please consider using the Internet as your primary way to access information for studio updates and do not take paper schedules or flyers.  Our website is always up-to-date with the most recent information and changes, including our schedule, upcoming events, etc.

Thank you for all you do - let's all contribute so we have a better world to leave our children and their children... generations to come will appreciate our effort!

We may have missed noting additional ways in which we reduce our human footprint and will add things as we realize that.  If you have suggestions on how our community can be more green, please let us know.  We'll also use this page to bring awareness to organizations that are contributing to the health of our environment.
