New England organizations:
Yoga Hope:
a non profit outreach organization dedicated to
establishing rehabilitative yoga programs in residential facilities
for underserved women in substance abuse recovery, poor and homeless
women, and victims of domestic violence. The practice of yoga has
been shown to produce positive motivational change by helping women
regain their vital center of energy, satisfaction and stability. It
can help reduce low self-esteem and poor body image, and greatly
improves a woman's sense of personal empowerment, yet female
populations who could benefit from this practice don't have access
to it!
There & Back Again: a non-profit reintegration program offered
at no cost to veterans of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.

Stress Disorder (PTSD). TABA offers a structured program of yoga,
meditation and alternative approaches to healing the whole body to
help veterans transition back to their lives stateside. Our
objective is teach veterans how to use breath awareness, meditation
and yoga to manage their symptoms of PTSD, to improve their
relationships with loved ones, to begin to fully participate in
their lives, and to give back to their fellow veterans through
TABA’s Train the Trainer program. TABA is comprised of respected
professionals who are dedicated to the healing of our military men
and women, and our program is based on both the latest research on
the benefits of alternative therapies and staff and advisory board

Yoga
Gives Back: Non pro-fit organization. Our mission is two-fold.
First, we send our funds to support impoverished women in India.
Inspired by Nobel Peace Prize Recipient Dr. Muhammad Yunus’
revolutionary micro financing break-through, Yoga Gives Back
supports micro credit programs in India which lend small loans to
women in particular, who have no access to capital. Additionally, we
developed
“Sister Aid” programs where YGB donation directly funds
education, vocational training and micro credit programs for
struggling mothers, girls and orphans. Education and economic
independence are the key foundation to build sustainable
livelihoods.
Second, by reaching out to yoga studios, we build awareness via our
fundraising classes and events. Studio by studio, we share the
reality of our struggling sisters and invite the global yoga
community to join in our campaign to help alleviate poverty in In-dia.
Six billion dollars is spent on yoga in the U.S. alone each year. If
a fraction of this can help the poor in India, we can make a
difference, we can effect change.
