Living Yoga ethics of teaching yoga

Ethics – a set of principles of right conduct.
Integrity – steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethic code.
Morals – conforming to standards of what is right or just behavior.

As teachers it is our responsibility to provide a safe, nurturing environment for students to practice yoga so they are comfortable with the transformations (mind, body, spirit) that organically occur throughout their months/years of yoga practice.  It is important that teachers have a high degree of integrity and maintain clear boundaries in their role of mentor, facilitator and helper, which can be achieved by working towards consistent behavior as related to:

Living Yoga's Philosophy/Mission Statement

- To provide a warm, welcoming, safe, nurturing environment for students to practice yoga.
- To enhance the health and well-being of the community by offering classes that:

Integrate the mind-body connection. Increase core strength.  Increase flexibility.
Improve balance.
Reduce stress.
- To dedicate ourselves to Living our Yoga by 'practicing on and off the mat'.
- To integrate the Living Yoga community with the community at large by:
Offering a variety of classes/workshops/trainings; Offering Karma classes and/or to support local non-profits by donating to organizations that serve our local community as well as to communities beyond Concord as they are related to our relationships/memberships with organizations that:
1) Support the local community (Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Concord);
2) Are dedicated to fostering ecological consciousness (Green Yoga Association);
3) Support the yoga community in the United States (Yoga Alliance) and internationally (International Yoga Association).
