Ashtanga Yoga is a practice which synchronizes breath with movement through a set series of progressive postures to build strength, flexibility, and stamina. The first series is called the Primary Series, literally means yoga therapy. This method, when performed regularly heals all sickness and purifies your body in preparation for deeper Yogic practice – both physical as well as meditative. This class will focus on the finer details of Ashtanga Yoga in a way that is not overwhelming and is a slower pace than the full Primary Series led class on the schedule. Each class will include breath work, sun salutations, foundational standing postures, seated postures, an introduction to back bending, and a closing sequence. (All levels) |
